another reason to ditch internet exploder.
webvisum. it's a plugin for firefox that allows tagging of bad links for sites. like if your screen reader says something you can't understand you can make a tag if you know where the link goes to and all the people that use webvisum will benifit from the tag you just made. that is not the best part though!!! it can solve capchas! it can solve audio and visual capchas. this is a great plugin. i have made the full switch to firefox. it has a few bugs on sites like facebook but they are working on that. the site for the webvisum plugin is www.webvisum.com and you all defanatly need to look at it. i spent all day yesterday playing with it. so you all mess with it and feel free to share your experiences and whatever you'd like.

Wow, and I thought Jaws didn't work that well with Firefox. I'm gonna check this out. And lol to your comment on internet exploder.

jaws works with firefox great now :). jaws 9 does well. The only time i use internet explorer now is for facebook and windows update. firefox has a little trouble with the friends combo box on facebook but i have emailed Mozilla on this. they are working on it now.
the only thing i wished is that firefox had a mobile version. that would be great. by mobile i mean a version for phones cuz opra does not work with mobile speek well... well that is off topic. i'll save that for another bored.

Does Firefox work with jaws 8? And do you still get the features like links list and headings list and all that with Firefox? Thanks

Actually the latest firefox is known for being the fastest browser if that's what you mean, and no, you can not delete internet exploder! And the plug in you want, poster 6, is the crappy quicktime! At least i think it is...

firefox tells me its apple quicktime but it cant find it to install. so where can I obtain it for manual installation?

Post 10 by flcomputergeek (Its my opinion, take it or leave it. ) on Monday, 07-Jul-2008 15:12:22

I found the quicktime player is already installed and running in the system tray. I looked at the settings and cant see any way to incorporate into firefox.

never mind. I solved my own problem. but in case there is someone else pondering the firefox plug in to play zone sounds, heres what I did: access quicktime either from the system tray or the control panel. from the combo box, choose browser plug ins. tab to and activate the mime types button. from the list of checkboxes, check the audio only types box. apply these changes and click ok. close and restart mozilla firefox.

I use quick time alternative and you have to check some boxes in the settings to get sounds to work in firefox. I just forgot what they were.

Hi all,
I've installed firefox along with the webvisum plugin, but #I can't get the image capture feature to work. I've created a webvisum account, and it's alerted me to the fact that I'm logged in when I open a webpage, but Whatever I do, CTRL/ALT 5 followed by CTRL/ALT6, or CTRL/F6 then pressing CTRL V to copy the varification code from the clipboard, or doing the right mouse click to get to the "solve capture" item and pressing enter when the cursor is on the image doesn't work. I've tried it with the mozilla forums registration page which the feature apparently works with, and still no luck. Some help would be greatly appreciated.
Tara.

Personally, I could do without some tagging capabilities. At first, you could go to Google and there would be a tag on the title bar that said "Google English Home Page." Then some nutjobs started abusing the plugin by tagging the home page and other forms with either titles for other pages on the Google domain such as "Google reader" or "Create an Account". When I try to fix them, Webvisum gives me an error message saying that tagging for the google.com domain is not allowed. This makes me wonder what other websites these yahoos are fooling around with. Aside from that, the captcha-solving feature is awesome! Firefox is much faster than Internet Exploder, and now if you have Jaws 10.0 public beta, you can use the virtual find feature instead of Firefox's highlighting of text that it has found. If they could create a plugin that only solves captchas and nothing more, we would benefit more from that than this other hogwash!

Hi,
thanks for the advice, my problem was sorted ages ago. The issue was that I didn't have the show images option turned on in firefox, which is why Webvisum wasn't recognising a capture. Show images is supposed to be available by default, but for some reason it wasn't when I installed it.

Hi!

I’ve installed webvisum, but haven’t been able to get the captcha feature to work. I’m under the impression that if you open the context menu you’re supposed to have an option to click on that says “solve captcha”, or something to that effect, but I’ve never seen it. Also tried the other commands, although I can’t recall what they are now. Could someone please help? Thank you.
